As a trained and qualified PE teacher with 17 years of experience in both the state maintained and independent sector, I am able to teach a range of sports and activities to a high standard, across all key stages; however, my specialism is younger children.  Please note that my degree covered a multitude of sports and activities in great detail which is why I do not hold individual external coaching qualifications in all areas.  Below is a list of activities I can offer but it is not exhaustive so please ask if there is an activity you would like to offer your pupils which is not here.

Multi sports

In multi sports clubs, fundamental games skills for example, dodging can be learned through fun activities including rats and rabbits, cat and mouse and cups and saucers etc. Club activities will also focus on creating space, cardiovascular fitness, speed, dribbling, passing, and catching skills, to develop hand eye and hand to foot coordination, which are integral to any sport.

Parachute games

Parachute games are always a firm favourite, particularly with the younger age groups.  Games including fruit salad, popcorn, and cat and mouse are active, lots of fun, and inclusive.

Dance

In educational dance, similar to gymnastics, there are five principles of movement.

Flight

Rotation

Freeze frame

Gesture

Travel

In dance, using the given stimulus (for example under the sea) children will then create movements in each of the movement principles and then with teacher input, develop routines in their groups using compositional devices.  They will also be taught the different phases of the song and using a music breakdown sheet they can record their routine for each phase of the dance.  Differentiated again according to development phase. I'm also happy to choreograph and teach routines to the children.
